The European Commission's TTIP Consultation
The European Commission is seeking views from Europeans and US citizens on the controversial investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) proposals in the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership or TTIP.
The solution
We've built a little python tool for SumOfUs that submits the EC's official form with their supporter data. They set up an online action (with specific form fields that have labels real humans can understand) and allow their supporters to respond to one or just the last one of the questions from the EC form. On the thank you page we embedded a captcha from the EC's form to validate that every submission was "human". We also found and reported bugs in the EC's form protection while working on the project. SumOfUs could gather nearly 25.000 signatures with their online action and their solution was the only one that elegantly responded when the EC's server crashed under the load.
