In this fully interactive session, More Onion experts will give you the best practice tips and practical strategies you need to make your copy compelling and motivating to your supporters. In addition to exploring general best practice, there will be a range of practical exercises and real-world examples.

What we'll cover

The fundamentals of great copywriting
Master the basics and writing content to fit your objective will become a breeze. Follow these key principles to bring an end to never-ending rewrites and endless rounds of edits.

Email, website and social copywriting
We’ll dive into the key practices that apply to all three channels, as well as the nuanced approaches to take for each.

Writing for different audiences
It’s time to stop making unhelpful assumptions and get to know your audience; who are they, what drives them, and why do they support you? Learn how to define your audiences to avoid a send-to-all approach, without falling down a segmenting rabbit-hole.

Fundraising & campaigning copywriting
When mobilising supporters to take action, your copy needs to stand out, persuade and drive the message home. You’ll discover the key things to remember when writing copy so nothing stands in the way of them making that donation or signing that call to action.

This was such a brilliant training for anyone in the sector who writes copy (which is just about everyone). The facilitators were excellent and the training equipped us with so many tips, tools and practical steps to write more purposely and achieve impact. Who the training is for

This training is designed for anyone working in the charity or not-for-profit sector who wants to improve their copywriting skills. Campaigners, fundraisers, communicators, innovators and beyond will benefit from this session. This training is valuable to professionals at all stages of their career, from entry level to leadership. You don't need any prior experience of building supporter journeys. It is offered exclusively for people working for a charity or not-for-profit.

How it will work

This training series will consist of two half-day sessions using virtual meeting platform Zoom. There'll be a mix of expert input from More Onion experts, practical exercises, group work and discussion with other trainees, plus personal reflections after the sessions to help you make the most of the contact time.
