Yes, it's a little late to mention Advocacy Engine on our blog now. But after climbing to the top goolge search results with the splash screen and this little article in the german newspaper "Spiegel" we really thought we owe you some background info.

What is this advocacy eninge thing exactly? Until now we've been rather silent about it. Only very few people have seen the prototype. Advocacy Engine is a Drupal-based eCampaigning tool. With this tool you can run online actions (like petitions, email protest, etc.), monitor the performance of those actions and stay in touch with your supporters via targeted email blasts.

On top of that you can change the design with a few clicks (or with CSS if you are a professional). Our goal is to make it as simple as possible to get a digital campaign up and running (quickly) while providing more flexible and comprehensive settings for eCampaigning professionals.

So this is open source, or what?

Advocacy Engine is a hosted solution based on open source software (Drupal). We believe that this bears great potential for non-profits as well as the open source community. While Advocacy Engine is more like www.wordpress.com specific useful functionality will be published (and maintained) as open source modules for Drupal. This way the community can benefit and other agencies can develop smarter campaigning websites while our platform can rely on secure and stable CMS features.

And what's ahead?

For now we can't give you a date to remember. But we'll release the first lines of code this spring and maybe we'll even launch a closed Alpha testing soon. But if you are keen to stay up to date you can subscribe via email, fan us on facebook or follow the advocacy engine twitter account. If you have ideas on features or questions feel free to post a comment!
