As a result of the Lisbon Treaty, European citizens gained the right to invite the European Commission to make a legislative proposal. The European Citizens' initiative (ECI) is a new (very bureaucratic) way of participating in the European legislative process. You probably know google maps, right? Back in 2005 when the platform was launched it was the big thing for a few months. The current hype is called "Geo-Tagging". Basically it means to associate specific content with places ("Geo").
While social networks like Foursquare are pretty popular in the US already there is probably not a lot you can do with it in Europe so far.
You know how much people want to take action? In fact the online supporters of your cause may even want to take action a few times a day. And along comes the action widget ;-)
The basic idea is to create a widget that shows all the recent actions your supporters can take. This widget can be embedded in any blog via copy and paste. And guess what - it takes about 5 minutes to set up.
When I started with graphic design my approach was quite straight forward. At least I thought that it was. It took a little while to actually find out that planning a raw layout on paper or with simple diagrams can be very helpful.
